Hai is an engineer and former teacher with 19 years of volleyball involvement, including competitive playing, coaching, administration, management and development, and 13 years of training experience. He has worked as an in-house trainer in various multi-sport facilities and gyms.
His family comes from a long background of tennis players, with most of his generation being athletes from an early age. He has played multiple sports since age 10 and fell in love with volleyball. Hai graduated from the University of New Orleans and holds three degrees.
In his early years as an adult, he held many positions in teaching, tutoring, training and leadership, along with honorary mentions within the university.
