Kisha Cameron

  • Kisha Cameron is no stranger to the game of volleyball. She has been the Girls’ Head Varsity Volleyball Coach at Joliet Catholic Academy since the 2021-2022 season. Her first year she led the Angels to a 4th place finish at the IHSA volleyball tournament. The following year, the Angels again returned to the coveted tournament and finished the season with a 3rd place medal in Bloomington. This past fall, the JCA Angels finished with a competitive winning record before losing to Plainfield North in the 4A division of playoffs. Kisha also served as the Assistant Varsity coach for the boys’ volleyball program at Hinsdale Central High School and does private instructional training with TVI (The Volleyball Institute). Prior to being named the head coach at JCA, she previously coached the JV Angels under Chris Scheibe for three years.

Before diving into the high school realm of volleyball coaching, she was the head Women’s Volleyball coach at Joliet Junior College for nine years where she was able to lift that program into more consistent and winning ways and in 2009, was voted NJCAA Region IV Conference Coach of the Year. She also has coached club volleyball for many years for Sports Performance, Ultimate Volleyball Club, and most recently Uno Volleyball Club. Because the love of the game is so extensive for her, she also began coaching boys volleyball almost 10 years ago.

Kisha currently works at Joliet Catholic Academy as the Director of Diversity and Inclusion. She has a BA in Psychology from the University of Illinois at Springfield (where she also played collegiately) and an MA in Professional Counseling from Argosy University.

  • I believe in building players up while also teaching fundamentals that build the foundation for the support. I do this by offering feedback, support, and LOTS of reps! Volleyball is one of the best games out there and I enjoy helping players become more confident in their skill set and have fun.
